Important information For smoothly running systems
To offer you the greatest possible planning security, you will find information on current phase-outs listed chronologically and thematically below. We strongly recommend the modification to modern systems or products in order to keep your plant at the state of the art.
Discontinued Service
Since 2005, the manufacturer Siemens has been phasing out the SIMATIC S5-115/135, and now, as from October 2015, no further spare parts will be available for this automation technology. For us this means that we will no longer be able to offer any service, software modifications or system upgrades for this technology. The same applies to the PLC-5 control system from Rockwell (formerly Allen-Bradley), which is also being phased out.
We therefore recommend that you arrange for all the affected control systems in your plant to be converted to current system technology in good time. Our Siempelkamp specialists operating around the world will advise you individually on which systems are optimally suited to your specific plants. You will then be able to guarantee plant availability and rest assured that your plant will run quickly and above all efficiently after the conversion.
In 2010, Siemens announced the product phase-out of the MASTERDRIVES system with complete discontinuation of component supply and technical support in the year 2020. In the remaining time, we will be able to continue the supply and repair of components for MASTERDRIVES systems.
We do recommend timely migration to the new SINAMICS/SIMOTION drive series by 2020 at the latest as not only the delivery times are getting longer and prices for the MASTERDRIVES parts are rising but also the demand for our individual retrofit packages is growing.
SINAMICS/SIMOTION provides you with an innovative drive system with extended modularity and functionality that operates just as reliably as the MASTERDRIVE system.

Retrofits of all the required machine protection equipment to the new technology, including the systems for monitoring speed differential (Delta-v) and slippage. This is of crucial importance because external solutions do not take account of these aspects so that it is only a matter of time before damage occurs to plant components requiring heavy investment such as the ContiRoll® steel belt.
